A New Partnership Aims to Bring Connection and Reassurance - not Surveillance - to Canada’s Aging Population

Toronto, May 28, 2026 - As Canada’s senior population rapidly expands, so too does a quieter crisis: loneliness, disconnection, and the growing tension between safety and independence in elder care.

A new partnership between kiloBryte Inc. and Hall Telecommunications Supply Ltd. is betting that the answer isn’t more monitoring, but more meaningful connection.

The two companies announced a national reseller agreement this week to bring Paige™, a one-touch video communication platform, to home care agencies and senior living providers across Canada. Their shared goal is to make staying in touch as effortless and as human as possible.

Unlike traditional monitoring technologies that can feel intrusive, Paige is designed around a different philosophy. It offers seniors a simple way to connect with loved ones without navigating complex devices, while still preserving dignity and autonomy.

“Families want reassurance, but seniors want independence,” said Donal Byrne, CEO of kiloBryte. “Paige sits in that middle ground and creates presence without intrusion.”

The timing is deliberate. Canada’s aging demographic is putting increasing pressure on care systems, while families, often spread across cities or provinces, struggle to stay meaningfully involved in daily care. For providers, this creates both a challenge and an opportunity: how to offer connection as part of care, not just clinical support.

Hall, a company with a 50-year history in the distribution of telecom, security, connectivity, and assistive living devices, sees this as a turning point for the sector.

“There’s a clear gap between what technology can do and what people actually need,” said Michael Polo, President of Hall Telecommunications. “What stood out with Paige is its simplicity. It doesn’t try to do everything. It just does one thing exceptionally well: it keeps people connected.”

At the center of the rollout is a new Paige device featuring a 10.1-inch HD tilt display and enhanced audio, tailored for seniors who may face cognitive decline, limited mobility, or low digital literacy. The platform also includes tools for both families and care providers: a mobile app that allows loved ones to connect instantly, and a cloud-based system that enables providers to manage devices and services remotely.

The result is a system that care teams, already stretched thin, can quickly deploy via Wi-Fi or cellular networks without added complexity.

But beyond the technology, the partnership reflects a broader shift in how the AgeTech market is evolving.

Where earlier innovations focused heavily on monitoring and risk management, a new wave of solutions is emerging that prioritizes emotional well-being and human connection as core components of care.

For kiloBryte and Hall, the bet is that connection itself is becoming a critical care standard.

And in a system under strain, that may be exactly what families and providers have been waiting for.
